Resignation accepted

New Delhi Aug. 24. As advised by the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, has accepted the resignation of Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Power, from the Council of Ministers.

Consequently, a minor reshuffle of the Vajpayee Council of Ministers is planned for Monday evening, when the Shiv Sena nominee, Anant Geete, is expected to take the oath at a swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan as a Cabinet rank Minister to fill the vacancy caused by Mr. Prabhu's departure.
