Indian challenge ends

CHENNAI AUG. 26. India's challenge ended in the World bridge championship for the Rosenblum Cup in Montreal, with its final hope, Dalal's team, losing in the pre-quarterfinals.

Dalal's, which had in its ranks Commonwealth bronze medallist K.R. Venkataraman of Chennai, lost to Munawar's team of Indonesia by 105 International Match Points.

The following sides have made the quarterfinals: Atanasio (Italy), Burgay (Poland), Fredin (Sweden), Lavazza (Italy), Munawar (Indonesia), Monachan (England), Schwartz (U.S.) and Kowalski (Poland).
