Swamy blames pro-LTTE men in Karnataka

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI Aug. 26 . The Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy, today alleged the kidnapping of the former Minister, H. Nagappa, by the Veerappan gang has been encouraged by pro-LTTE elements within the Congress Government in that State to get the release of pro-LTTE persons such as P. Nedumaran and the Nakkeeran reporter, Sivasubramaniam.

The episode was also to undermine the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa's ``patriotic moves'' to crush the LTTE in the State, he said.

The earlier kidnapping of the cine actor, Rajkumar, was also staged to enable the LTTE to receive a ransom for his release, which was paid according to a proscribed memoir of a former DGP of Karnataka, Dinkar.

Demanding the resignation of the Karnataka Home Minister, Dr. Swamy also called for despatch of a special commando force to nab Veerappan, who was now roaming freely in Karnataka forests as he had to flee Tamil Nadu.
