Balasingham to head team

COLOMBO Aug. 28. Anton Balasingham, who had been named by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam as their chief negotiator, will head a four-member team at the direct talks with the Sri Lankan Government, scheduled to start in Thailand on September 16, news reports said.

Quoting LTTE sources, the London-based Tamil Guardian said the team would comprise Mr. Balasingham, V. Rudrakumar, LTTE's legal advisor, Jay Maheswaran, a rehabilitation and development expert, and Adele Balasingham, who will function as secretary.
