Kirsten dropped

JOHANNESBURG AUG. 29. South African cricket selectors on Thursday announced a 14-man squad to take part in the International Cricket Council Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka next month, dropping pace bowler Roger Telemachus and opening batsman Gary Kirsten from the previous line-up.

Swing bowler Alan Dawson and middle-order batsman Dale Benkenstein were brought into the squad, which will be captained by Shaun Pollock.

The squad: Shaun Pollock (captain), Dale Benkenstein, Nicky Boje, Mark Boucher, Alan Dawson, Boeta Dippenaar, Allan Donald, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Lance Klusener, Makhaya Ntini, Justin Ontong, Jonty Rhodes and Graeme Smith.
