Blackwill meets Advani

NEW DELHI
AUG. 29.
The U.S. Ambassador, Robert Blackwill, in his half-an-hour meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, is understood to have discussed a variety of issues including the situation in Kashmir, and the Government's preparations for elections in the State.
Following the meeting, Mr. Blackwill said that he would be leaving for Washington in the next few days in order to help prepare the ground for meetings in September between the Prime Minister, A.B. Vajpayee and the U.S. President, George W. Bush, and between the External Affairs Minister, Yashwant Sinha, and the U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell.
The meeting between Mr. Vajpayee and Mr. Bush is scheduled for September 12. Mr. Sinha will meet the Secretary of State and other officials of the Bush administration on September 9.
