Arjuna awards presented

NEW DELHI AUG. 29. The President, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, today conferred the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna Awards on those who excelled in sports for 2001.

The batsman V.V.S. Laxman and the former women's hockey captain, Sita Gusain, were among the 14 recipients of the Arjuna Awards for 2001.
