Nomination rejected

Islamabad Aug. 30. In a setback to the former Pakistan Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto, the Election Commission today rejected her nomination to contest October 10 general elections, prompting a strong reaction from her partymen. Rejecting Ms. Bhutto's nomination papers, the Returning Officer said: "She has been convicted by an accountability court. She is not qualified to contest elections.''
