Making way for son

Srinagar Aug. 30. The National Conference president and Union Minister, Omar Abdullah, will be the party's chief ministerial candidate in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, while his father and incumbent, Farooq Abdullah, will be moving over to the Rajya Sabha.

In the NC's second list of candidates released today, Omar's name figured as the party nominee from Ganderbal constituency, the traditional seat of his father.
