A three-Judge Bench, comprising the Chief Justice, B.N. Kirpal, K.G. Balakrishnan and Arijit Pasayat, rejected the request of senior counsel for Karnataka for adjourning the hearing by four weeks to enable the Cauvery Monitoring Committee to evolve a ``distress sharing formula'' for sharing the water when there was a shortfall.
