9 children die in hospital

Kolkata Sept. 2. In a shocking incident, nine children died at the State-run B.C. Roy Memorial Children's Hospital today amid an acute shortage of oxygen and beds. With today's deaths, 29 children have lost their lives in the last one week and over 200 in the last two months in the city's largest referral hospital forcing the authorities to immediately suspend further admissions. Unofficial sources, however, put the toll at 20.
