Infinera develops photonic chip

BANGALORE: Having received VC funding of $88 million from the likes of Juniper Networks, Infinera India Pvt Ltd has commenced development of an integrated photonic chip for the telecom sector. "This will use disruptive technology that will reduce the cost of telecommunications," according to Sudhashu Verma, VP, Systems Software. The disruptive technology is photonic optics developed by Infinera. The company has set up its R&D centre in India.
