Child dies after getting polio drops

Midnapore (West Bengal) Sept. 6. The Sonakhali Primary Health Centre in Midnapore West district was today ransacked by villagers following the death of a three-month-old child allegedly after it was given polio drops.

Police said the mother of the child, on her way back home, realised that her son was unconscious and when she returned to the health centre she was told that the child was dead. People of the woman's village soon ransacked the health centre.

Police intervened and brought the situation under control.
