TTPS authorities told The Hindu today that the rectification work, which was taken up after an auxiliary transformer suddenly caught fire yesterday morning, was completed by midnight last night. The unit was brought back into the grid around 9.30 a.m. today and ``everything had been normalised'' at the thermal plant. The damaged 16 MVA unit auxiliary transformer was isolated and alternative arrangements had been made for feeding power to the auxiliaries of the Unit. There was a reduction in normal power generation from the TTPS on Friday after the Unit-II was shut down. Normal power generation had been restored today, the authorities added. The total generation of power a day from the plant is 25.2 million units. The plant has five units with each generating 210 MW power.
