Letters to the Editor
Sir, Your Editorial, `The Court and the Cauvery'' (Sept. 5) is commendable since the focus is on a win-win strategy for both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. In the context of the Supreme Court's order on the vexed Cauvery water problem, the people of the two States should approach the issue with a feeling of goodwill. Aldous Huxley thought of a world order where one nation gives succour to others in distress. At least, let us think of a national order built on brotherhood. Let the sacred Cauvery wash away the ill feelings and sow the seeds of fellowship, love and affection between the people of the two States. I am happy that you have given a clarion call to the people of the two States to work towards the success of the Cauvery River Authority, taking into account the ground realities.
S. Rathnam,
