Tibet as bridge

Sir, — It was interesting to read C. Raja Mohan's dispatches on Tibet. Tibet is an amalgamation of Indo-China cultures. In one of the monasteries on the way to Mansarovar, the images of Ram, Sita and Lakshman, beautifully decorated in the ambience of Buddhist culture, are worshipped in their own way. Raja Mohan hopes that the Sino-Indian relations will be further strengthened through Tibet, which was hitherto seen as a strategic point threatening India's security.

Indian film makers can exploit the locales in Tibet as shown by the Malaysian-born actress, Michelle Yeoh, in her film `The Touch'. Tourist traffic will improve greatly.

V.S. Sankaran,
Madurai
