Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is great news that the Magsaysay award winner, Sandeep Pandey, has returned the cash award. Will this make any difference to the so-called hegemonic U.S. administration? I don't think so. Mr. Pandey will get some publicity but those poor people who live in slums in sub-human conditions will get nothing. The award money $50,000 could have provided at least clean drinking water to some of those unfortunate ones. Does Mr. Pandey care? Do the social workers and intellectuals across the country care?
M. Banerji,
