Left parties' meet against communalism

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD Sept. 9. The Central Coordination Committee of Communist Organisation of India (Marxist-Leninist) and the CPI (ML) Unity Initiative will organise a democratic convention against communalism in Ahmedabad on September 28.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Monday, the committee convenor, Kanu Sanyal, said the effort was to mobilise people against what he termed as a `genocide' by the Modi Government in Gujarat. Democratic forces in Gujarat and genuine Left parties would attend the convention in Ahmedabad.

The Committee has also condemned the aerial bombing of western Iraq by the United States and the United Kingdom. The Committee felt that the aerial attacks on Iraq were part of an imperialist design to bring the whole world under the sway of the United States.
