Hat-trick by Mukund

VISAKHAPATNAM SEPT. 9. Mukund Yadav of Western Railway scored a hat-trick in the team's 5-0 drubbing of Diesel Loco Works, Varanasi, while holder Rail Coach Factory, Kapurtala, swamped Metro Railway 5-0 in the 59th all-India Railway football championship here on Monday.

Mukund scored his first goal in the 27th minute of the group `C' league match, and booted in two more, in the 60th and 75th minutes. Substitute P. Joseph scored a brace in the 85th and 88th minutes.

In group `A', Manjinder Singh opened the flood gates for RCF in the 18th minute, Jasbeer Singh knocked in one in the 30th minute, followed another by Manjinder three minutes later. Jasbeer scored again four minutes after breather. Captain Bikramjit Singh rounded off the tally six minutes from the long whistle.

In the other matches, Eastern Railway prevailed over North Frontier Railway 3-2 in group `D', with S. Bhumij scoring the match-winner just two minutes before the match ended. P. Gosh 921st) and A. Biswas (54th) gave Eastern a 2-0 lead at breather. Tapash Singha of NFR reduced the margin eight minutes after the break and T. Sonewal equalised the score line four minutes later. NFR held its ground till Bhumij knocked in the winner late in the game.
