Cong. pursuing votebank politics, says Modi

AHMEDABAD SEPT. 15. The Bharatiya Janata Party's "gaurav rath yatra" today entered Junagadh district in Saurashtra region, completing over half of the total distance of 607 km.

The three-day second phase of the "yatra", launched yesterday from Jhajankar in Ahmedabad district, was led by the Chief Minister, Narendra Modi. Speaking at Jhajankar, Mr. Modi made a scathing attack on the Congress for ``pursuing vote-bank politics'', and accused the party of trying to ignite a caste war after exploiting Dalits for the last 50 years.

The choice of Phagvel and Jhajankar by the BJP for the launch of its first and second leg of the "yatra," had political significance, as Kshatriya and Dalit communities dominated the areas respectively. — PTI
