Hizbul's deadly reward

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI SEPT. 16. The Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, today said he had information that the chief of the Hizbul Mujahideen, Syed Salahuddin, had announced a `reward' of Rs. 40 lakhs for killing the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, and the Union Minister, Omar Abdullah, and Rs. 10 lakhs for gunning down a candidate.

"What kind of people are we dealing with? Terrorism is bad in itself, this is more than that. I regard the attacks on the J&K Assembly, Parliament House and the recent incidents of violence against candidates as an assault on democracy,'' Mr. Advani said.
