Missing the point

Sir, — This is with reference to Jaya Jaitly's inferences on the article `Living with difference' by Pratap Bhanu Mehta, where she seems to have clearly missed the point being argued.

We must realise that assimilation is not the guiding principle of secularism. Distinctly, to deny difference would mean falling into the perilous trap of homogenisation.
