Third emergent Assembly session in 10 years

Bangalore Sept. 20. The emergent session of the Legislative Assembly convened here on Tuesday will start at 11 a.m. according to T.Rajanna, Secretary, Legislative Assembly. The Legislative Assembly has been summoned on emergent basis on three occasions in the last decade. It met on July 5, 1991, to mourn the demise of the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi. It was again summoned to discuss the Cauvery issue on December 28, 1995. The Assembly met emergently on January 27, 1998, to enable the then Chief Minister, J.H.Patel, face a vote of confidence.
