Workshop on AIDS check

NEW DELHI SEPT.20. A three-day workshop on AIDS prevention and care was organised by the Guru Gobind Singh University (GGSIP) in association with UNESCO and the Delhi State AIDS Control Society from September 19 to 21 at the University Campus.

A.K.Walia, the Delhi Minister of Health, inaugurated the workshop. Also present on the occasion were the Vice-Chancellor of GGSIP University, K.K.Aggarwal and Program Officer (AIDS) UNESCO, Shankar Choudhary among others.

Dr. Walia stated that Delhi has reported a total of 22400 cases of HIV and emphasised that until the invention of any medical cure, knowledge and awareness about AIDS was the only available defence.
