Padmanabiah, Muivah hold talks

bangkok Sept. 21. Ahead of formal talks between the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (IM) and the Indian Government on Monday, the Naga leader, T. Muivah, and the Centre's emissary, K. Padmanabiah, today held informal parleys here to carry forward their peace negotiations. Though no details were available on the agenda for the Monday talks, the NSCN (IM) sources said that ``several issues needed to be cleared up and misunderstandings removed, before the NSCN (IM) leaders could travel to India to hold talks there.''

New Delhi has invited the leaders to come to India to have the talks. The NSCN (IM) wants the arrest warrants against them revoked before they travel to India, the sources said, referring to one of the issues.

Some of the proposals known only to the two sides concerned were leaked out and had reached the Nagaland Chief Minister, S.C. Jamir. `— PTI
