The Chief Minister complimented NTPC authorities for taking up the massive plantation drive in and around the NTPC premises. The NTPC General Manager, S.V Moorthy, the Deputy General Manager (HR), Mathews and others were also present. Mr. Naidu also dedicated the 100-bed area hospital to the Godavarikhani town on the occasion. He also opened Government junior college buildings, constructed at a cost of Rs. 22 lakhs in the town. The Peddapalli MP, Suguna Kumari, legislators, Mathangi Narsaiah, K. Devender Rao, Suddala Devaiah and G. Ramakrishna Reddy, district Collector, Sumita Dawra and other officials were present. The police made elaborate security arrangements for the Chief Minister's visit to the industrial belt by deploying additional forces in the town. However, the Chief Minister diverted his convoy to residential areas to inspect municipality works deviating from the schedule drawn up by the district administration.
Judge plants sapling
The Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge, G. Raghuram, planted a sapling in the District Court Complex premises.
