By Our Staff Reporter

PATHANAMTHITTA Sept. 21. Justice Cyriac Joseph of the Kerala High Court has called upon Churches and Christians to follow the path of peace and reconciliation in resolving the problems facing them.

Justice Cyriac was inaugurating a valedictory function of the 72nd anniversary celebrations of the reunion of the Malankara Catholic Church at Chengaroor this afternoon.

The very message of Christianity was love and peace. And it would lose its relevance if the church leaders and faithfuls failed to resolve various issues facing them through reconciliation, says he.

Justice Cyriac said that the church leaders and faithfuls should prepare themselves to correct their mistakes, upholding the Christian spirit of love peace and fraternity.

The Thiruvananthapuram Archbishop, Cyril Mar Baselius, presided over the meeting. The Bishop of the Thiruvalla Diocese, Geevarghese Mar Themotheos, welcomed the gathering.

The Bishops, Stephen Athipozhiyil (Alappuzha Diocese), and Mar Joseph Perunthottom (Changanacherry Archdiocese), the Apostolic visitor for North America and Europe, Issac Mar Clemis, Ramesh Chennithala, MP, Joseph M. Puthusserry, MLA, and P. J. Kurien, former Union Minister, addressed the meet.

Earlier, a colourful rally was held from Mallappally to Chengaroor as part of the concluding ceremony of the three-day celebrations.
