The Additional Sessions Judge, M S Sabbarwal, granted interim bail till October 10 to Alam, a resident of Okhla here, on furnishing a bail bond of Rs 20,000. He will have to surrender before the court on October 11.
In all 11 people, including these five, are facing trial in the case in which a two-member Lashkar-e-Toiba squad had stormed the 17th century historic monument here and killed two armymen and a civilian on December 22, 2000.
Seventeen months after the attack on the Red Fort, the police had on May 27 informed the court that they have completed the investigation into the case and chargesheeted 22 people. Out of the 22 accused, three had been killed while eight were declared proclaimed offenders. The rest are facing trial.
They have been accused of murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy and waging war against the state. Main accused Pakistani national, Ashfaq, has been charged under the Foreigners Act too. PTI
