The grama panchayat and the cooperative hospital had sounded the GCDA about the 70-cent plot located between the new Irimpanam-Nedumbassery expressway and NGO Quarters within the Thrikkakara grama panchayat area. However, according to sources, everything was in place for the registration of the land to the party that has been selected by the GCDA authority for the sale of the land. The panchayat and the cooperative hospital authorities had requested the GCDA secretary to consider their requests against payment of a reasonable price for the plot of land. The cooperative hospital authorities had offered to negotiate the price of the land. According to the sources, the hospital authorities are looking for a suitable plot of land to expand its hospital facilities. Earlier, an official of the GCDA had said that the authority had decided to sell the land to a private party.
