Jayalalithaa condemns attack

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI SEPT. 25. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, today termed the "murderous attacks" on "innocent unarmed worshippers" at the Swaminarayan Akshardam temple in Gujarat as an attempt to "destabilise our nation" and appealed to all Indians to rally around and defeat the "sinister designs of the terrorists".

In a statement condemning the attack which left 44 persons dead, Ms. Jayalalithaa said that even in "these days of rapid strides in Information Technology for human development", such "senseless and indiscriminate mayhem" by "perverted" terrorists was being perpetrated all over the world. "We should unite to put down terrorism firmly," she said.
