By B. Muralidhar Reddy
While condemning the incident, a Pakistan Foreign Office statement said, ``indeed we feel that those behind this terrorist attack and those trying to drag Pakistan into it are working to heighten tensions in the region.'' In an obvious reference to the remarks by the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, and the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, the statement said that the accusations ``are as ridiculous as they are mala fide''. ``Such terrorist attacks do not promote any cause.'' The fact that the attack was on a place of worship made it even more reprehensible. ``We hope that the perpetrators of this heinous act would be apprehended and dealt with in accordance with law''.
