By Mahesh Vijapurkar
Speaking to presspersons in the context of the bandh called by his party, he wondered how long the country would have to suffer the "humiliating assaults" by militants who were able to strike "at will." And how long would the leaders continue to say that "we will suffer this no more.'' If the country could not deal with terrorism effectively, "what is the point of hanging on to power?" Asked specifically if he would withdraw the Sena's support to the NDA Government, he said "let us see what turn politics takes.'' Mr. Thackeray "warned" those wanting to trigger a communal clash during the bandh. He said in the Saamna, Sena mouthpiece, "Pakistan wants just that to happen. That would tie down the Army" in the management of internal disturbances "and leave the border open and free.''
