'Norway did not seek permission'

CHENNAI SEPT. 26. The Foreign Secretary, Kanwal Sibal, has clarified that the Norwegian authorities had not sought permission from the Union Government for the LTTE to use India as a transit point, en route Thailand.

He made the clarification in a letter to the Janata party president, Subramanian Swamy, who had asked the Government of India to reject any LTTE proposal to transit through India.
