Samata to suspend MP

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI SEPT. 26. The Samata Party has decided to suspend its MP, Bharmanand Mandal, for questioning the intentions of the Railway Minister, Nitish Kumar.

Mr. Mandal had written separate letters to the Defence Minister, George Fernandes, and the Prime Minister, A.B. Vajpayee, complaining of the "attitude" of Mr. Kumar in not extending invitations to him for railway functions held in his Parliamentary constituency.

Mr. Mandal, in his letter to Mr. Fernandes, had also criticised Mr. Kumar's style of functioning and alleged that he was taking decisions with regard to party affairs in Bihar and Jharkhand without taking anyone into confidence.
