Somany new Assocham President

NEW DELHI SEPT. 28. R. K. Somany, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Sanitaryware and Industries, has been elected President of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) for 2002-03.

Mr. Somany, who was the alternate President of Assocham earlier, took over his new assignment at the 82nd annual session held here.

Meanwhile, M. K. Sanghi, Chairman of the Sanghi Group of Companies, was elected alternate president of the chamber for the period.
