Match abandoned

Colombo Sept. 29. The ICC Champions Trophy final between India and the host Sri Lanka will be played afresh here tomorrow after heavy rain forced the covers to be brought on when India, set a target of 245, were 14 for no loss in two overs. Sri Lanka batted first after winning the toss.

Earlier, the skipper Sanath Jayasuriya's 74 and a patient 54 by the wicket-keeper-batsman Kumara Sangakkara helped Sri Lanka post a respectable target of 245 runs off 50 overs. In case, the weather rules out play tomorrow, the teams will share the trophy. — UNI
