SIDBI signs MoU with World Bank arm

MUMBAI OCT. 1. The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and the Southasian Enterprise Development Facility (SEDF), an agency established by the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU is an important step taken by SIDBI in the direction of giving a boost to the small enterprises in the industrially underdeveloped states in the North Eastern region of India.

As part of the MoU, SIDBI and SEDF will undertake reconnaissance missions in the North East to identify sectors with potential for growth. The missions will enable SEDF and SIDBI to initiated detailed techno-economic feasibility reports for each of the sectors with potential for fuelling growth in the region.
