Bhavnagar peaceful

AHMEDABAD Oct. 3. Peace prevailed in Bhavnagar and other riot-hit areas in Gujarat with no untoward incidents reported.

About 20 people were injured in stone throwing and group clashes in Vadodara, Piplod in Anand district and in Bhavnagar where the police opened fire injuring one person on Wednesday following communal disturbances.

More arrests have been made by the Ahmedabad crime branch police in connection with the plot to assassinate the Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, by a Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist, Samirkhan Pathan.

The police picked up three people, Sikandar, Mohsin and Kaifu from Rajkot and Badri Alam from Jamalpur locality in Ahmedabad after they were named by Samirkhan during questioning. Sikandar was reported to be owned the house which Samirkhan rented from sometime and maintained contacts with Rizwan of JeM in Pakistan through internet. Eight people were arrested so far from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in this connection.
