KU website introduces subject links

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM OCT. 4. The University of Kerala is opening up new vistas in the information highway by providing additional links from its own site to other academic sites.

The `Subject Gate Way' is meant to provide the maximum number of links to hundreds of websites which give information on different subjects.

At the moment, the site `www.keralauniversity.edu' is linked to many other subject-related sites. By clicking on `Resources and Links' on the home page of the university site, one can enter the subject gate way.

Students, teachers and researchers for whom the subject gate way facility is expected to be highly beneficial, can also suggest websites of related subjects for a possible link. The suggestions can be e- mailed to `keralauniversity@vsnl.com' with special mention of `subject gate way'.

Information including site addresses of individuals, institutions, organisations and publications pertaining to a particular subject should also be furnished while suggesting the sites to be linked. The merit of the sites suggested will be looked into before deciding on providing links to them.

The university had recently updated its site with question papers of examinations held in the previous years. Over 20 subjects, both at the degree and the post- graduate level, have thus been covered. The remaining ones will also figure on the site soon. The site provides application forms for more than 30 different services. The forms can be downloaded and submitted along with an additional fee of Rs.10, per form.
