Former R.S. official dead

NEW DELHI OCT. 5. The former Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha and MP, B.N. Banerjee (87), passed away at Kolkata on Friday evening. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Mr. Banerjee was appointed Secretary of the Rajya Sabha in October, 1963 and served as its Secretary-General between November, 1973 and March, 1976. He was nominated to the House for a six-year term in April, 1976, a Rajya Sabha release said here today.
