By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI OCT. 5. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, today met the Union Rural Development Minister, Shanta Kumar, and requested him to expedite release of funds due to the State under various central schemes.

Mr. Naidu, apprised the Minister of the drought conditions prevailing in the State which had led to acute shortage of drinking water. He sought Central assistance for employment generation programmes and drinking water schemes such as watershed programmes and sinking of borewells.
