Doctors satisfied with Maran's progress

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI OCT. 8. The Union Minister for Industries and Commerce, Murasoli Maran, "is walking around freely in the room'' and a "team of doctors attending on him is satisfied with his continuous progress,'' a medical bulletin from the Apollo Hospitals said today.

Mr. Maran had undergone an emergency heart-valve replacement surgery at the hospital on September 25.

"His cardiac functions are normal without any support. His liver functions show continuous improvement. He requires intermittent renal dialysis for maintenance of his kidney functions. His urine output has increased in the last two days,'' the bulletin added.
