Urban `Haat' project in Jodhpur

JAIPUR OCT. 12. The first urban `Haat' project of Rajasthan will get under way in Jodhpur on October 16 with the laying of its foundation by the Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot. The Central Government had recently sanctioned establishment of two urban `Haats' in the State on the lines of `Dilli Haat'.

The other `Haat' will be set up later in Jaipur. The small scale entrepreneurs, local artisans, craftsmen and cottage industrialists will get an opportunity to sell their products throughout the year in these `Haats'. The foundation stone laying ceremony in Jodhpur will be presided over by the State Industries Minister, Chandrabhan.

An official release said here today that Rs. 2 crores would be spent on establishing the urban `Haat' in Jodhpur. While the Centre will contribute Rs. 1.40 crores to the project, the State's share in the enterprise would be Rs. 60 lakhs.
