`Bangalore Properties 2002' begins

By Our Special Correspondent

BANGALORE OCT. 12. Sara Corner, former Miss India, inaugurated "Bangalore Properties 2002" at the St. Joseph's Indian School Ground here on Friday.

The event has over 70 exhibitors comprising builders, developers, consultants, financial institutions, interior designers, insurance firms, and government departments.

The Chairman of Vijaya Bank Housing Finance, Rama Adyanta, said with falling interest rates and more flexible options, there would be a huge growth in the number of people planning to build houses. Events such as "Bangalore Properties 2002" would help showcase all options under one roof, and also allow vendors to know the latest developments in the field, thus improving minimum standards, he added.

A five-day seminar on topics such as vaastu, water management, Rent Control Act, and low-cost housing will be held. The event, organised by VSP Communications, has brought together the Karnataka Housing Board, the Bangalore Development Authority, the Karnataka Slum Clearance Board, the Ministry of Urban Development, and the KPTCL.
