Protest in Gujarat against cleric's remarks

Ahmedabad Oct. 13. There have been incidents of stone throwing and violence at the Modasa township in Sabarkantha district today, after some people took to the streets protesting reported remarks made by an U.S. Baptist minister, Jerry Falwell, referring to the Muslim community.

Sources at the police control room said that ``There were stone throwing and moderate mob violence at Modasa, about 70 km from here".

No one was injured and the mob fled, as soon as the police reached the spot, the sources added. — PTI
