Philippoussis for Tata Open

Mumbai Oct. 15. Australia's Mark Philippoussis has confirmed his entry for the Tata Open 2003 to be held at Chennai's Nungambakkam Stadium from December 30 t0 January 5, 2003. One of he powerful servers in tennis, the Australian was recorded with the second fastest serve (141 mph) not long ago.

"I am really looking forward to playing in India. I have heard great things about the tournament through other players and hopefully I can get a good start to the New Year at the Tata Open in Chennai,'' Philippoussis said from San Diego over a teleconference arranged for the press on Monday.

While announcing Philippoussis' participation, Mr. Romi Chaterji, Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, Tata Services said: "Just as Philippoussis' game begins with the most powerful aces in tennis, we are serving up the announcement of his participation at the Tata Open 2003 as our ace to commence the countdown to the Tata Open.
