Terrorism and Islam

Sir, — This refers to the report `Over 180 killed in Bali blast' (Oct. 14). Terrorism is a curse for Islam. It will divide the "ummah" between those who may tolerate such cowardly violence and those who are repelled by it. If terrorism persists, it is likely to draw away the latter Muslims from their faith.

The ulema the world over should unite and do its utmost to defeat terrorism.

F. Salimullah,

Lucknow
