Shops set on fire

By Manas Dasgupta

AHMEDABAD OCT. 18. At least three shops belonging to the minorities were set afire at Adesar town in Rapar in Kutch district during a Vishwa Hindu Parishad-sponsored "bandh'' today.

The bandh call was given by the VHP in protest against the alleged forcible conversion of a Hindu youth some three months ago. While the bandh was complete, three shops were set afire by the hooligans. There was no other untoward incident.
