A hospital with all modern facilities would function round-the-clock at Erumely during the pilgrim season with the cooperation of the PNP Memorial Hindu Medical Mission there. The local health centre too would work day and night, he added. Mr. Karthikeyan today convened a meeting of high-level officials to discuss the measures to be taken at Erumely in connection with the Mandala-Makara Vilakku pilgrim season. The meeting decided to have two more temporary medical dispensaries at the place during the season. In addition, there would be a mobile medical unit and sufficient ambulance vehicles to be pressed into service under emergency situations. In a press release, he said steps would be taken to ensure sufficient drinking water supply in the town during the season.
