Kamlesh emerges winner

CHENNAI OCT. 20. Kamlesh Patel emerged winner in the lap 10 and 15 races in the Esteem category of the JK Tyre (third leg) National racing championship held at the Irrungattukottai Track, near here, on Sunday.

The Lap 15 race of the Formula Maruti category was cancelled due to a collision between Rajvirdhan Vijayakumar and Ameya Walavalkar and as a result of which Walavalkar was stranded at the edge of the track. Two spectators, who came to Walavalkar's help, were also injured when Kaushik Harita car ran into them. The injured were taken to Sri Ramachandra Medical Hospital.

At the end of the third leg, Rayomand Banajee leads with 43 points while Sarosh Hataria is second with 41 points. Ameya Walavalkar (29 points) is in third place.

The results: Esteem: Lap 10: 1. Kamlesh Patel 13.12.854s, 2. J.D. Madan 13.15.686s, 3. B. Vijaya Kumar 13.17.480s; Lap 15: 1. Kamlesh Patel 19.41.532s, 2. J.D. Madan 19.44.644s, 3. B. Vijayakumar 19.50.127s;

Formula Maruti: Lap 10: 1. Sarosh Hataria 12.33.214s, 2. Rayomand Banajee 12.33.387, 3. Kaushik Harita 12.33.645s; Lap 15 cancelled.
